Indie,foreign and Cult films

Post by ComicBookGal on Mon Nov 03, 2008 11:40 pm

Who else here enjoys watching indie and cult films? Anyone have any recommendations?
I'd recommend these:
The Boondock Saints(I think it's considered a cult film but I might be wrong.)Irish twin brothers hunt down the mafia in Boston because they have a vision that God wants them to.
I recommend 'The American Astronaut" for an indie, its a steampunk cowboys in space, retro space opera musical with singdowns instead of fights and there's a floating barn in space! Its hard to find but highly recommended.
I liked Linda,Linda,Linda, but its also really slow and if you don't understand the social culture of Japan, its pretty confusing,I had to keep asking my dad to explain it for me.
Koi no Mon(otakus in love) a cosplayer and a manga artist who uses rocks for his art fall in love.

Is the Elvira movie considered a cult film?
Anyways, please tell me what you guys think of these films,or your favorite indie/foreign/cult films.

some of my favorite indie or cult films include:

A Clockwork Orange- a futuristic story about a gang of violent teens led by Alex, who is arrested and doctors try to train him to be good

Tampopo- known in japan, not so much america. about trucker goro, who helps tampopo make her noodle shop the best one around. sounds a bit uninteresting, but really quirky and fun. One of the best movies I'd ever seen.

I saw Tampopo! It was really odd. I was liking it up until the turtle scene, you know what I'm talking about? And then I was horrified.
also,I thought the part with the old woman and the food poking was really funny.
